The Government is looking to move the Country into a new set of rules in the coming weeks in order to combat the rise of the Omicron variant that scientists are predicting could vastly increase our infection rates in the coming weeks. This is not great news in the lead up to Christmas as so far restrictions have been minimal and everyone has been enjoying life getting back to normality. However, everyone’s safety is at risk and therefore this Plan B should help to keep us all safe over the festive period.
So what is Plan B?
Plan B is reintroducing some of the rules we have seen before and the Prime Minister has strongly stated that Plan B is not the start of another Lockdown which is music to all of our ears.
The rules include the below:
- From last Friday the 10th of December face masks will be compulsory in most public venues including theatres and cinemas
- From yesterday (13th December) guidance to work from home will be reintroduced.
- From this week NHS Covid passes will be mandatory for entry into nightclubs and other venues.
- Self-isolation to be replaced by daily testing for contacts of Covid-positive people
Yesterday there was over 54,000 cases and hopefully these new measures will help to curb the rise in cases over the coming weeks so we can all enjoy Christmas together with our families and prevent a future lockdown.
As always at Countrywide Windows we will be following the advice of the Government to ensure that our team and our clients are at minimum risk during this tough period to ensure the safety of everyone.
We will keep a regular eye on updates to ensure we know what the current rules and regulations are when it comes to the new plan/plans being implemented.
From the Countrywide Windows Team have a wonderful week and stay safe.
