With the world shifting to a more environmentally sustainable way of living there are going to be major changes in the way every business operates in order to make the world a better place for future generations.
With the recent net zero targets being announced we have already started to see changes and plans for future products within the building and fenestration industry. With this is mind we are going to take a look at Vacuum Insulated Glazing in this week’s blog.
What is Vacuum Insulated Glazing?
Vacuum insulated glazing is a new technology that is tasked with meeting the severe thermal performance requirements of net-zero energy windows. By creating a vacuum between panes of glass, thermal efficiency and sound insulation is maximised as no gas enters the space making it the perfect window for energy efficiency.
How Does It Work?
Research has shown that creating a vacuum between two or even 3 panes of glass can be up to 5 times more thermally efficient than the windows we use currently. Vacuum Insulated Glass is very similar to Triple Glazing when it comes to energy saving but it can be more efficient and is much lighter and less bulky making it the perfect alternative when it comes to future windows.
Vacuum Insulated Glazing’s thermal efficiency is hard to beat but it doesn’t stop there, it also has unreal sound insulation performance meaning it will be perfect for homes on busy streets or near motorways as it will block the sound from entering your home giving you the chance to enjoy some peace and quiet.
