2020 has been a crazy year for everyone around the world. The pandemic threw the whole year into chaos and unfortunately until a vaccine is found it shows no signs of slowing down. We have all had to adapt and change our lives to try and safeguard ourselves and our loved ones and therefore we wanted to take a look into the future and hopefully to a time where we are no longer effected by the covid-19 pandemic.
2020 has possibly been the slowest year of our lives with the first lockdown, the tiered system and now the second lockdown. It has meant a lot of people have spent a lot of time at home and have started to appreciate things in life that were perhaps taken for granted before covid-19 showed its ugly head.
One thing people have really noticed is the importance of having a nice home and if possible a nice garden as well. No one realised how important this was until we were forced to spend weeks upon weeks in our properties. We are often distracted by work, going to the gym, meeting with friends, running errands etc and therefore we don’t really spend that much time at home. Often when we are at home we are sleeping ready for work the next day or relaxing and therefore you don’t really notice or would even have thought about what it would be like if you had to stay there all the time.
The lockdown forced us to do this and in-turn has a seen a leap in demand for housing improvements to ensure people are comfortable and at ease with spending a prolonged period in their homes. Extensions are in demand in order to create extra space with orangeries becoming even more popular than were before. Garden improvements have also been huge as this is often one of the only safe outdoor areas that you can spend time in and therefore a lot more effort has been put in to ensure these are an attractive space to spend your time. Garden shelters have become perfect way to shield you from the elements whilst conservatories are a great way to expand your garden and bring the outdoors inside so you don’t have to worry about the wind, rain etc.
We hope in 2021 things can go back to normal or at least as normal as it can possibly be once a vaccine has been found. We would love for nothing more than our clients, families and friends to be able to interact again without worry or fear and hopefully 2021 can be a much better and safer year for everyone. In the meantime, we will follow all the guidance and advice to ensure we provide you with a safe home improvement service to ensure you are as comfortable as you can be in your home whilst we are in lockdown.
